Admin Support FAQs

Q1. What is EtechRU and who is it designed for?

EtechRU (Etech Remarkable University) is a multi-tenant Learning Management System (LMS), designed to serve multiple organizations, departments, and user roles within a single platform. It is designed for learners seeking to complete training and development courses, company managers and department training managers overseeing their team’s learning progress, and administrators managing users, courses, licenses, and reporting across the organization. Whether you are an individual learner or an enterprise administrator managing thousands of users, EtechRU provides the tools, flexibility, and structure to support your unique learning environment.

Q2. What does “multi-tenant” mean in the context of EtechRU?

Multi-tenancy means that EtechRU hosts multiple organizations, called “companies” or “tenants”, within a single platform instance, each with their own isolated user base, course catalog, licenses, branding, and reporting. For example, Sharks Inc and its sub-departments (such as Kelvin Research, SpaceK, and Wells Scope) each operate as separate entities within EtechRU while sharing the same underlying infrastructure. This allows Etech Global Services to centrally manage the entire platform while giving each tenant full administrative control over their own learning environment.

Q3. What roles exist within EtechRU and what can each role do?

EtechRU operates with three primary role levels. The Learner role gives users access to their enrolled courses, progress reports, badges, certificates, leaderboard, calendar, and notification preferences. The Company Manager / Department Training Manager role provides access to user management (create, edit, upload, assign users), course management (enrollments, learning paths, company groups), reporting tools (completion reports, user reports, certificate reports), and license management. The System Administrator role has full platform access including company creation, global course management, license provisioning, and system-wide configuration. Each role sees a tailored interface with only the tools and data relevant to their responsibilities.

Q4. How do I create a new user in EtechRU?

To create a new user, navigate to the Dashboard, select the Users tab, and click Create User. Fill in the four mandatory fields — First Name, Last Name, Email Address, and Username, and optionally select an authentication method. You can also configure advanced settings such as department assignment, role, password options, and profile fields including Call Center, Supervisor Name, Campaign, Designation, Employee Status, and Hire Date. Once complete, click Submit and Create Another User to add more users or Submit and Back to Dashboard to finish.

Q5. Can I add multiple users at once instead of creating them one by one?

Yes. EtechRU supports bulk user creation through the Upload Users feature. Navigate to Dashboard > Users tab > Upload Users, upload a CSV file containing your user data, configure the CSV separator and encoding settings, select the upload type (Add New Only, Skip Existing Users or other available options), and click Upload Users. The platform will process the file and create accounts accordingly. To ensure your CSV is formatted correctly, use the User Bulk Download feature first to download an existing user list as a reference template in your preferred format text, ODS, or Excel.

Q6. How do I edit or update an existing user’s details?

Go to Dashboard > Users tab > Edit Users. The Edit Users page displays all users within your department with their name, email, role, department, and last access date. Use the alphabetical filters or the User Search panel to locate the specific user. Click User Controls next to their name and select from the available options: Change Course Enrollments, Change Course Licenses, or User Report. To edit their profile directly, access their profile and update the relevant fields.

Q7. What is the “Assign to Company” feature and when should I use it?

The Assign to Company feature allows managers to move or assign users between companies or departments within the multi-tenant structure. This is particularly useful when an employee transfers between departments or subsidiaries, for example, from Sharks Inc to Sharks Inc / Kelvin Research. Navigate to Dashboard > Users tab > Assign to Company, search for the user, select them from the left panel, and use the Add button to assign them to the target company on the right panel.

Q8. What is the difference between “Department Users & Managers” and “Assign to Company”?

Department Users & Managers is used to assign or change a user’s role within a department, for example, promoting a user to Company Manager or moving them between role levels using the Add, Move, or Remove controls. Assign to Company is used to move a user’s company membership entirely, placing them under a different organizational entity within the platform. Both are accessed from the Users tab on the Dashboard.

Q9. How do I enroll users into a course as a Company Manager?

Navigate to Dashboard > Courses tab > User Enrollments. Select the course you wish to enroll users into from the dropdown, you can search by keyword to find the right course. Once selected, the page displays all currently enrolled users on the left and all available users on the right. Use the Enroll button to add selected users or Enroll All to enroll your entire department at once. You can also set a notification email date to inform users of their new enrollment.

Q10. What is a Learning Path and how is it different from a single course?

A Learning Path is a structured sequence of courses grouped together to guide a learner through a defined development journey, for example, a progression from foundational skills to advanced competencies. Unlike a single course, a Learning Path has a name, description, an active status, and an optional cover image. Learning Paths are created and managed from Dashboard > Courses tab > Learning Paths and are particularly useful for onboarding programmes, role-specific training tracks, and leadership development series.

Q11. What are Company Groups and how are they used in course management?

Company Groups allow managers to segment learners within a course into smaller groups for better organization and targeted reporting. Groups are managed from Dashboard > Courses tab > Manage Company Groups, where you can create, edit, or delete groups for any course. Groups are then assigned using the Assign Course Groups feature, which lets you select a course, choose a group, and allocate users from specific departments to that group.

Q12. What reports are available to a Company Manager in EtechRU?

Company Managers have access to a comprehensive suite of reporting tools from the Reports section. Available reports include the Completion Report by Course (showing completed, in-progress, and not-started status per course with visual summaries and monthly breakdowns), User Reports (showing individual user progress across all enrolled courses with download options in CSV, Excel, HTML, JSON, ODS, or PDF), and individual user-level reports accessible via Edit Users > User Controls > User Report, which displays each learner’s full course history including status, grade, license allocation, date started, date completed, and certificate availability.

Q13. How do I download report data from EtechRU as a manager?

All major report pages include a Download button with a dropdown offering multiple export formats. The Completion Report by Course supports CSV, Excel, HTML, JSON, ODS, and PDF. The User Reports page supports Chart Raw Data and Chart PDF downloads. The Certificate Report supports Overall Raw Data download in Excel format. Apply your filters : Category, Course, Status, and Date Range, before selecting your preferred format and clicking Download.
